Schools are a kind of second home to children and families, so of course conflict and behavior problems can present themselves in the school context. I have expertise in consulting with school administrators, teachers, and counselors on how to approach such issues. Often described as “multi-problem” families, the families in question are typically struggling with multiple stressors, may have several children with learning and emotional needs, and have difficulty obtaining or following through with effective treatment. School staff may conflict with each other regarding how best to help them. I can guide you in formulating a family treatment plan which will promote effective treatment, successful learning, and fewer school-day problems.

I can also help with milieu-based problems. Sometimes, a cohort of children just do not get along, or unfortunate dynamics take hold resulting in social conflict, bullying, ostracism, conflict between peer groups, and conflict between parents. I have skills in evaluating and providing guidance in resolving these problems.

I provide individual and group support for schools in the wake of community-related tragedies, such as the death of a student or parent, or suicides.
